Mathematics

End of Year SMARTR Outcome (Goal)

A minimum of 72% of students will score at the pass proficient or pass advanced as measured by the Spring 2019 Mathematics SOL test (unadjusted)

The failure rate of our Students with Disabilities subgroup will be reduced by at least 20% as measured by the 2019 unadjusted math SOL results.

The pass rate for all first and second grade students will increase from 78% to 80%, indicating a 10% decrease in the failure rate, as measured by the Spring MRA test in 2019.

Strategy 1

  • At Parklawn, we will continue to develop components of the math workshop to provide engaging and differentiated instruction (i.e., small groups, tasks), including the use and analysis of formative assessments to drive instruction.

Strategy 2

  • At Parklawn, we will continue to implement and refine our Kid Watch and MTSS/RI practices to provide quality, differentiated instruction and intervention to all students.

Strategy 3

  • At Parklawn, we will establish weekly Special Education CLTs that deepens the team’s understanding of instructional best practices and develop the team’s understanding of how to balance grade level content and IEP goals.

Reading

End of Year SMARTR Outcome (Goal)

A minimum of 65% of students will score at the level of pass proficient or pass advanced as measured by the Spring 2019 Reading SOL (*Unadjusted).

The failure rate of our Students with Disabilities subgroup will be reduced by at least 20% as measured by the 2019 unadjusted reading SOL results.

63% of students in grades 1-5 will be reading on or above grade level, as measured by the Spring 2018 DRA2.

Strategy 1

  • At Parklawn, we will continue to refine small group instruction (i.e., guided reading, strategy groups, ELD groups) during our literacy block, to include the use and analysis of formative assessments to drive this instruction.

Strategy 2

  • At Parklawn, we will continue to implement and refine our KidWatch and MTSS/RI practices to provide quality, differentiated instruction and intervention to all students.
